Welcome Bradley!

Welcome to the world Bradley!  Although we were scheduled to have a delivery on June 3rd, you decided to come on your own terms.  You were born on Monday, June 2nd, 2014 at 5:59am at Fairview Southdale.  You weighed in at 7.7 and 19 inches, Apgar score at 9.

Over the weekend, mama was feeling a few contractions.  It really started to get worse on Sunday morning.  We went to the hospital but then you decided to calm down.  We then came back home.  On Monday morning, around 1am, I knew it was time.  Baba, Beni and I went down to the hospital.  Then Baba dropped Beni off at home with the babysitter.  When he came back, you arrived about 40 minutes later.  The pain meds wore off so you were pretty much delivered naturally.  Not exactly my preference but that's how it worked out :)

Your brother Beni visited right away in the afternoon.  He was very, very excited to pick you up from the baby room.  He's a little scared of you right now because you are so small and can only cry.  But he is very helpful.  He likes to make milk when your hungry and let mama and baba know when you are fussy.

Uncle Mike, Aunt Holly, Lauren and Nicole also visited you on day 1.  You pretty much slept through the visit.  Also, our photographer Tami also took some pictures.

All of your tests came back great - hearing, heart defects, etc.  Your doctor has visited you every day at the hospital.  We checked out on Day 3 and on Day 5, you went from 6.15 to 7lbs 3oz - great progress!  You've been a great eater and sleeper for the first month.

Yipao, Uncle Johnny and Grandma Wu flew in to see you too!  Yipao stayed three weeks and held you the entire time.  You love being held by Yipao.  We've also noticed that you sleep better when you hear Beni's voice.  No matter how loud he is, it seems calming to you.  How sweet.

By the end of week 3, you were eating about 4 ounces every 3 hours.  You've started eye contact and some smiles.  We are amazed at your physical development.  From the first day, you wanted to lift your head.  You've also managed to roll half way since you like sleeping on your side.

Sleeping has been going well.  You do prefer to sleep with someone.  Now that you are in your 6th week, you like to be held or in the big bed with someone.  If not, you're pretty much up in 10 minutes.  You're also cooing and really studying the world around you.  You love faces and the wood beams in the family room.  I know you will hear this for the rest of your life, but here's the first time - you look just like your brother.

We are so happy you have joined our family and cannot wait to enjoy summer with you.
Love you lots!
