6 months already?!

I cannot believe you are 6 months already dee dee!  Every day is an adventure for you.  It’s been a few months since mama updated your blog and so much has happened!
We found out that you are very prone to ear infections, usually double ear infections.  You’re allergic to amoxicillin but do very well with cefdinir.  It’s been almost back to back infections so I’m thinking you might get tubes like your baba.  Right now we have you going to the chiropractor weekly in hopes that you’ll get better on your own!
We also found out that you likely have asthma.  You’ve been wheezing since you were about 3 months old.  I was a little nervous for a while because we couldn’t get it under control.  However, you’re much better now.  You take your maintenance meds (budesinone) twice a day with the nebulizer.
Even though you haven’t been feeling very well, you are a true champ – happy, giggling and laughing all the time.  You seem really laid back and cool with things.  Dr Inman calls you the happy wheezer. You love to watch your brother.  Anything he does makes you laugh.
Fall was a blast!  You, Ben, Baba and I went to the apple orchards.  We went on hay rides and saw how apples are sorted and made into pies.  You’re still a little too young, but we had fun in the leave piles at home too.
Like your brother, you went through a few Halloween outfits.  You were a spooky ghost, pumpkin and monkey!  We were greeting all the kids while baba and Beni went out trick or treating.
Hawaii was a blast.  You were excellent on the plane and it was a long ride!  Most of the time, you cuddled with Yipao –she loves holding babies! We brought you out to the beach and I dipped your toes into the sand and water… not much of a fan.  Since you’re a little baby, we kept you mostly in the shade.
You really like daycare too.  Ms Jen and Ms Shelley really, really love to spend time with you.  They also noticed how advanced you are with your downward dog yoga poses.  Dr Inman did indicate that you are a few months ahead and most kids start doing that around 8 months or so.  It’s just a matter of time before you start crawling. You love rice cereal, carrots, squash and all fruits.  You do not like anything green – ick!
A few milestones and updates:
·         9/20 Double ear infection and wheezing
·         9/22 big smiles and lots of coo-talking
·         10/3 sprouted head of furry hair overnight
·         10/4 went off colic formula, doing great!
·         10/13 jibber jabber up a storm
·         10/20 15.11 lbs, 24.5 inches, both in 50th percentile.  Head in 11th percentile
·         11/1 went on prednisolone, lost a pound
·         11/7 up from 14.6 to 16.6, still has ear infection
·         11/23 rolling over
I love you Dee Dee!  You’re such a cheerful little baby.  Watching you learn and grow warms my heart.  I am so happy to be your mommy. :)

Fall is here

Hello Bradley,
I can't believe it's fall already and you just past the three month mark.   You are totally a cutie and very laid back.  You started at Kindercare up the street and love it :)  Ms Jen and Ms Shelly are your fav's. Now that mama is back at work, you're there five days a week.  And you are a total trooper... had a cough for a few weeks now but never spiked a fever.

Around mid July, we found out you have colic.  We pretty much tried everything under the sun (5S's, exercise ball, less stimuli, chiropractor, a bunch of different formulas).  What worked is the change in formula to Alimentum.  You're happy as can be now, which is great.

And, you are a total kicker... Berger legs as we call them.  Very sturdy little baby.  You go by a lot of names too!  Dee dee is usually what we call you.  Yipao calls you Xiao ma.  And your teachers at school call you Bradley.

Here are your development updates:

7/10 - 10lbs
7/15 - colic started
7/18 - Chiro visit
7/22 - Alimentum saves the day!
7/28 - Day one at daycare, went well!
8/4 - First time you had 7oz
8/7 - 2 months old.  12.2 lbs and 23 inches.  15% for head size.  Coo's, giggles, smiles, love to hear your brother.
9/2 - 3 months, 14 lbs.
9/15 - super smiley, lots of giggles, long coos, recognize people.  Love the outdoors.

You love to listen to your big brother and enjoy watching TV with him.  We love you a ton Dee Dee - you are a perfect addition to the family.

Welcome Bradley!

Welcome to the world Bradley!  Although we were scheduled to have a delivery on June 3rd, you decided to come on your own terms.  You were born on Monday, June 2nd, 2014 at 5:59am at Fairview Southdale.  You weighed in at 7.7 and 19 inches, Apgar score at 9.

Over the weekend, mama was feeling a few contractions.  It really started to get worse on Sunday morning.  We went to the hospital but then you decided to calm down.  We then came back home.  On Monday morning, around 1am, I knew it was time.  Baba, Beni and I went down to the hospital.  Then Baba dropped Beni off at home with the babysitter.  When he came back, you arrived about 40 minutes later.  The pain meds wore off so you were pretty much delivered naturally.  Not exactly my preference but that's how it worked out :)

Your brother Beni visited right away in the afternoon.  He was very, very excited to pick you up from the baby room.  He's a little scared of you right now because you are so small and can only cry.  But he is very helpful.  He likes to make milk when your hungry and let mama and baba know when you are fussy.

Uncle Mike, Aunt Holly, Lauren and Nicole also visited you on day 1.  You pretty much slept through the visit.  Also, our photographer Tami also took some pictures.

All of your tests came back great - hearing, heart defects, etc.  Your doctor has visited you every day at the hospital.  We checked out on Day 3 and on Day 5, you went from 6.15 to 7lbs 3oz - great progress!  You've been a great eater and sleeper for the first month.

Yipao, Uncle Johnny and Grandma Wu flew in to see you too!  Yipao stayed three weeks and held you the entire time.  You love being held by Yipao.  We've also noticed that you sleep better when you hear Beni's voice.  No matter how loud he is, it seems calming to you.  How sweet.

By the end of week 3, you were eating about 4 ounces every 3 hours.  You've started eye contact and some smiles.  We are amazed at your physical development.  From the first day, you wanted to lift your head.  You've also managed to roll half way since you like sleeping on your side.

Sleeping has been going well.  You do prefer to sleep with someone.  Now that you are in your 6th week, you like to be held or in the big bed with someone.  If not, you're pretty much up in 10 minutes.  You're also cooing and really studying the world around you.  You love faces and the wood beams in the family room.  I know you will hear this for the rest of your life, but here's the first time - you look just like your brother.

We are so happy you have joined our family and cannot wait to enjoy summer with you.
Love you lots!
