Summer Vacation - Italy! Part 1: Venice

This summer, we were deciding between an Alaskan cruise and Italy.  Since Anthony gets seasick, we decided to go to Italy!  I wasn't sure if you guys would like Italy as it's hot, humid and has a lot of walking but you guys has a blast.  Venice is on the map as one of your favorite travel destinations.

In Venice, we stayed right by the Rialto bridge and also made a day trip to Burano.  When looking at these pictures, you'll need to start from the bottom up as they loaded incorrectly. We arrived on Saturday at our Airbnb, took a short nap (no nap for you) and had our first dinner at Muro. The cheese pizza and fries were a big hit with you. We also tried pork ragu, gnocchi, pizza, duck ragu and gelato at Amorino. The next day, we went to Burano which was beautiful. We walked around and had lunch - fried shrimp, grilled turbot and seabream as well as the freshest mussels, razor clams, clams and soft shell crabs. A yummy meal of butter linguine for you. Then, back at Venice, we walked around and got dinner at Trattoria de Gallettine (more mussels, clams and linguine) followed by a gondola ride and some more gelato. On Monday, we visited Doge's palace, St Marks Square and climbed the Clock tower. We also made some face masks at Camarana which was so much fun!

On the train to Florence.  We were at the train station and visited the candy store.  There was no one there and the employee was very nice so you really wanted to buy something.  These candies are still in our pantry now :).
Ready for Florence.

On our way to our last dinner in Venice - Pietra Rossa.  It was mediocre as they messed up the pasta twice (undercooked).

We walked a ways to mask making but it was totally worth the trip!  You were very particular in your choice of masks.  The story behind the crocodile is that he ate a bird and there was a battle so he has blood on his eyes.  The employee said you had the most creative story with your masks.  She is helping you glue on red heart jewels as blood and the blue bird feathers coming out of his mouth.
Mama also hand carried these masks on the plane back home to ensure they were not damaged.

Lots of creativity
